Confiscated firearms and ammunition.

Rene Fierro, 25, and Edtson Vasquez, 21, both said to be members of a Wasco street gang, were arrested on April 4 on felony charges related to illegal firearms and child cruelty.

At approximately 4:50 p.m., deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office, Wasco substation, and with members of the High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area, served a search warrant in the 1800 block of D Street in Wasco.

During the search of the residence, they located a loaded black semiautomatic 9mm pistol, a "ghost gun" without a serial number and a high-capacity magazine.

Fierro was arrested and booked into the Kern County Jail for felon possession of a firearm and ammunition, a high capacity magazine and an undetected firearm, and participating in a criminal street gang and willful cruelty to a child.

Vasquez was arrested for an outstanding felony warrant connected to a separate investigation and booked into the Kern County Jail.

Anyone with information regarding the investigation of these crimes is asked to call the KCSO at 661-861-3110 or the Secret Witness hotline at 661-322-4040
