Wardrobe for Wildcats — Semitropic School is seeking donations to provide two full uniforms, school t-shirt and school sweatshirt to each Semitropic School student for the 2024-25 school year. Dinner event — A Night for Maple fundraiser dinner on Saturday, May 18. The Maple Tradition of Excellence Foundation supports Maple School District as a nonprofit organization. Evening will include a steak/chicken dinner, appetizers, dessert, drinks, a custom espresso bar and live music. Live and silent auction items with a live auctioneer. Limited number of tickets available and because of sponsors, all tickets purchased and money raised will go 100% toward the work of the foundation. Information, 661-746-4439.

Warm clothing drive – Supervisor David Couch invites the public to donate gently used or new warm clothing through the remainder of the year. Shafter drop off location is 329 Central Valley Hwy.
