Condors hockey game to benefit the Tigers

The Bakersfield Condors will host a charity hockey game on Saturday, Jan. 13, at 7 p.m. at the Mechanics Bank Arena to benefit the Wasco High School football team.

Chad Martinez is the varsity head coach. "This season, we competed for a State Championship, and although we fell short, we were still State Regional Champions for the first time in Wasco High history. We will commemorate our Regional Championship with rings, which a portion of the proceeds from the event will help buy."

Martinez said the win was significant for the boys, whowere deserving of the rings. "Many of them dreamed about this since they were five years old, and they put in the work and made their dreams come true."

He added that the community should come out and support this effort. "Because the rings will help create a lifetime memory not only for the boys but also for their families and the high school."

He predicted a fun event. "Many students have never been to a hockey game, so this will be another first-time experience they are excited about."

Martinez extends a warm invitation. "Please join us for this event as the Condors will celebrate us and let us walk down on the ice for the halftime show."

Tickets are $25 and can be purchased online by visiting Facebook at Wasco High Football.
