Serving the community since 1970

Dutch Bros coffee shop now open

Dutch Bros Coffee opened its doors to the public on Monday with a ribbon cutting commemorating the occasion. Members of the community and Wasco leadership attended the celebration.

Morgan Rapp is the regional operator. "We are so honored to serve the community that is just as excited to be here and part of what we do."

He said they decided to come to Wasco because the community is so loving. "We are thrilled to bring Dutch love to this city and thought we'd be a perfect fit."

Rapp shared that they will carry out philanthropic campaigns like "Dutch Luv Day" and "Buck for Kids Day" to benefit local charities and nonprofits.

"It's important because we want to provide this community with support for our youth and food insecurity."

When asked what the culture of Dutch Bros is, he said, "We radiate kindness, and we are a 'fun-loving, mind-blowing' company that makes a massive difference one cup at a time."

To staff the business, 32 local employees were hired. "We want to have our local faces serving our local community and create opportunities for growth within the company for the people in Wasco."

Rapp said they stand out from the rest. "We always want to ensure we're giving the best speed, quality and service. Our products are unique, and we truly have something for everyone."

"Our drinks are handcrafted to perfection and guaranteed to satisfy. We have limitless customization that our customers have access to."

Some favorite drinks include the "Ice Annihilator," made with chocolate macadamia nut and breve milk.

"Another really popular one is our version of an energy drink, the 'After Shock Rebel,' made with raspberry, strawberry, blackberry and lime. Our most popular is our 'Golden Eagle Breve' made with caramel and vanilla breve with caramel drizzle."

He said their customer service "is like nothing you've ever experienced." "Our broistas are dedicated servant leaders, which means putting others before yourself and making sure every customer leaves with a smile."

Chief of Police Charlie Fivecoat attended the ribbon cutting. "I think all of the development we are seeing is wonderful news," he said. "It's great for the city because it provides more shopping opportunities for our citizens."

Councilmember Gilberto Reyna added, "Dutch Bros is an excellent addition to Wasco's growing business community. They offer a variety of delicious drinks and snacks that are customer favorites, and their staff is super friendly."

City Manager Scott Hurlbert shared, "I think it's fantastic because the people are really excited. They are big fans of Dutch Bros, and the double drive-thru line proves that."

"It's another amenity on Highway 46 not only for locals but for those that are traveling through. It's a tool for economic growth and an asset to improve the quality of life for residents."
