Shooting leaves man with traumatic injuries

A shooting in Wasco on Sunday left one man with traumatic injuries. Two suspects have been identified as father and son, Alberto Padilla, Sr., 62 and Alberto Padilla, Jr., 40, of Wasco.

Both fled the scene in a GMC Yukon. They are considered to be armed and dangerous.

The incident occurred in the 2400 block of Jo Ellen Court, where deputies from the Wasco Substation were dispatched for a report of a shooting.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, before deputies arrived, they were informed the possible victim arrived at the county fire substation, in the 2400 block of 7th Street, with gunshot wounds.

The 34-year-old male victim was ultimately transported to an area hospital for treatment.

There is an warrant for the arrest of Alberto Padilla, Jr. for attempted murder, a felon in possession of a firearm and prohibited possession of ammunition.

Alberto Padilla, Sr., also has an active warrant as a suspected accessory.
