2 arrested when drugs, ammo, cash found

Kern County Sheriff's Office deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 200 block of Faber Street in Shafter that resulted in two arrests and the recovery of weapons, drugs, ammunition and cash.

Deputies decided to request a search warrant for the residence after discovering evidence of narcotics trafficking during an earlier traffic stop investigation.

On April 21, the deputies served the warrant and entered the residence. Once in the residence, the deputies found a cache.

The deputies found over six pounds of methamphetamine and several illegal weapons. In addition, they found ammo for the weapons and a large amount of cash.

Teresa Rodriguez, 43, and Emilio Santi, 42, both of Shafter, were arrested at the home. Both Rodriguez and Santi were booked into the Kern County Jail for multiple weapons and narcotics charges.

The investigation is ongoing, and the department urges anyone with information about the case to contact them at 661-863-3110 or the Secret Witness hotline at 661-322-4040.
