Wings n Wheels landing on Minters Field Saturday

The Minter Field Air Museum is holding their annual Wings n Wheels event this Saturday, Nov. 12, featuring hundreds of vehicles, aircraft and fun activities for the entire family.

Museum President Ronald Pierce said that this year's event will be one of the largest ever, with over 100 planes on display, from vintage military aircraft to sleek jets.

Also on display will be over 150 cars and trucks, everything from classic cars to souped up trucks. The car show will also be giving out prizes for the top entries.

For those who are foodies, there will be plenty to choose from, from homemade tacos, burritos and pizza, to funnel cakes and other fair-type fare.

Several organizations will be on hand with information, including Honor Flight Kern County, veterans families organization, and many vendors offering a great variety of programs for veterans, aircraft aficionados and hot rod fans.

There will also be a live band playing big band music, bringing back a blast from the past. There will also be plane rides available and a couple of demonstrations from some unique aircraft.

The gates open at 9 a.m.
