Single tickets are $18 ($20 at the door); VIP tickets with preferred seating upstairs are $50.

The Wine and Roses even, presented by the Elk Ladies, is Friday night, Sept. 10, at the Elks Lodge, 16694 Wasco Ave., from 6 to 10 p.m. The wine-and-craft beer reception will honor the festival’s Grand Marshals. Tickets can be purchased at the Wasco Recreation and Parks District office or from any Elk Lady, including Liz Gerber at 661-472-3875 and Kathy Giesy at 661-378-7468.

Saturday, Sept. 11, starts with the Recreation and Parks District’s”'Somewhere Over the Rainbow Color Blast Fun Run,” with a 5K fun run and a 3K walk. The event will start at 7:30 a.m. at Barker Park. The entry fee is $30, and all proceeds raised will go to the WRPD's annual fireworks show. Register online at wascoparks.recdesk.com or in person at the office at 1280 Poplar Ave. Registration at the event is at 7 a.m.

Next up is the Wasco Rose Parade, forming at 10 a.m. from 7th and D streets to Poplar Avenue and ending at Barker Park. Register by emailing [email protected] or call Sharon Sharp at 661-910-2324.

Following the parade, stay at the park for the Rose Festival, with food, fun and games, and plenty of music into the evening.
