One person killed in rollover accident

One person was killed Aug. 3 when a Toyota Camry was traveling in the area of Highway 99 and Lerdo Highway turned over and burst into flames.

The tan Camry flipped over several times before it became engulfed, according to the account given by one of the passengers to the CHP.

At around 8:30 p.m., officers from the California Highway Patrol were dispatched to the area of Southbound 99 and Lerdo Highway.

Upon arrival, the officers found a vehicle engulfed in flames. According to one of the people in the car, the fire broke out after the vehicle had stopped.

The vehicle ended up in a field after the accident. The eyewitness was transported to a local hospital for treatment. The identity of the person killed in the accident has not been released.

The California Highway Patrol asks those with information about the accident to call 661-396-6600.
