Serving the community since 1970

A cut above the rest

If you are looking for a first-class barbershop experience at a reasonable price, Wasco's Barber Lounge will provide just that. Located downtown, they pride themselves on delivering excellent service and a warm environment.

Owners Liz Garcia and Mario Martinez have tremendous experience. Their team consists of three other barbers.

They cut hair for men, women and children. They also do all types of fades and tapers, and offer hot towel shaves, which provide a smoother, polished and less irritable shave.

Prices are affordable, and haircuts for men, women and children cost $25. Women's cuts include a style. Hot towel shaves are $15, while the fee for a traditional shave is $5. Additional services like eyebrow shaping with a blade cost $7. Waxing for both men and women starts at $10.

"We offer some of the best prices in town. We know our community works hard, and we want to give tremendous value," said Martinez.

Martinez said they stand out above the rest because of their commitment to excellence, attention to detail, customer service and a relaxing ambiance.

The shop is clean and modern, and tools are carefully sanitized for each client.

"We work hard to create a welcoming space. When customers come to us, they can expect to be treated with respect and handled with care. We want our customers happy to keep them coming back," Garcia said .

"The best part is getting to know our clients. They become our friends and feel at ease sharing their lives with us. It builds a bond and develops loyalty," said Martinez.

"It is exciting to see clients jumping off the chair with a smile," said Garcia.

Client Walter Ramirez has been going to Martinez for the last 10 years.

"I have a standing appointment with him every week, and I bring my two sons to join me for their cuts as well. I trust him to make me look good, so I feel my best. He is consistent, and you can tell he takes great pride in his work."

Steven Martinez is a five-year client.

"I like how they cut my fair and how they treat me. The shop is always alive with great music and friendly staff who are knowledgeable and passionate about their profession. The energy in here is special, and I have fun."

They are bilingual to better serve Wasco's large Latino population, and they also take walk-ins.

"Unlike other shops, with our large team, we can cut waiting time for those without appointments," said Martinez.

"We welcome you to come to see us. We are confident you will not be disappointed," said Garcia.

The shop is located at 900 7th St., Suite D. They are open Tuesday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 661-446-2172 or 661-858-7266. You can follow them on Instagram @wascobrbrlounge.
