A Celebration of Life for Eddie Dee Johnson, 78, of Wasco, will be held Saturday, May 28, at the Wasco Elks Lodge. Eddie passed away suddenly, at his home in Wasco, on May 18.
Eddie was born Dec. 27, 1943, in Alameda, to his parents, Lois Sargent Johnson and Herman Johnson. Herman, Eddie’s father, died when Eddie was 13 months old. Lois then moved the family to Wasco.
Eddie dedicated many years working for the City of Wasco Water Department before retiring and was a long-time member of the Wasco Elks Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Bonnie Stone Johnson. Eddie is survived by his son, Michael W. Johnson, and his wife Mary and their 3 children. He is also survived by a stepson, Rodney Walker and his family. His surviving siblings are Janelle Johnson Knox, Janiece Johnson Talbert, LaVone Johnson Sterling, Betty Johnson Rawlings, Hal A. Massengill and Alana Massengill Morland.
Eddie was a funny man with a great sense of community. He never met a stranger. He was generous, loving and a friend to all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
