Virginia Dale Ridge "Jinnie"

June 13, 1957 – March 1, 2022

Jinnie Ridge was an extremely loving, caring aunt, dog owner and friend. She left this world suddenly on March 1, 2022, She was born to Dallas and Elizabeth "Micky" Ridge on June 13, 1957. Jennie had three sisters, Cindy, Becky and Angie, and a brother, Ricky.

After deciding to quit school, Jinnie chased her dreams and went to work for Chevron for over 5 years. She also learned to drive an 18-wheeler and worked in Abernathy's Scrap Yard in Shafter.

Believe it or not, Jinnie also went to clown school because she loved making kids laugh – or was it because she just liked clowning around so much?

Jinnie was a big New England Patriots fan and overall football lover with a special love for Tom Brady she would call him her boyfriend during a game.

Jinnie struggled with addiction for a good part of her life. After coming into recovery and the Terra Lynn House, she volunteered at many 12-step meetings, holding many service commitments and serving on the convention committee, being of service to the Narcotics Anonymous fellowship every chance she got.

She was always the Easter Bunny at the NA Easter Egg Hunt at Beach Park in Bakersfield. She was also a longtime member of Valley Bible Fellowship, where she found her peace in Jesus. Jinnie was a big fan of Pastor Ron and often went on and on about his sermons on Sunday.

Jinnie's favorite Bible verse was Proverbs 3:5-6 [BEGIN ITAL]Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.[END ITAL]

Jinnie loved spending time in her yard working on her plants with her dogs Bullet, Tank, and her beloved Suzette. Jinnie loved all dogs. She would pull over on the freeway to pick up a stray dog. Jinnie always gave money to homeless people if they had a dog; she often had extra cans of dog food In her trunk for a homeless dog owner. Jinnie loved listening to the Beatles and riding her Harley. She was a skilled rider and filled her home with Harley memorabilia.

Jinnie is survived by nephews Terry, Jeff, Chris and Kelly Clayton; niece Anita Rojas; and great nephews Tyler, Jonah and Colton, who all knew her as Aunt GiGi. She leaves special friends Teresa Toos Ragsdale, Julie Etheredge, Diana White, her caregiver Syliva Cooper, and longtime sisters in recovery Lynette, Kendall, Sherry and LaLa.
