Bunny Bash — Tin Cup will be having a Bunny Bash on April 9 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kids ages 2-10 can decorate Easter cookies for $5 each while supplies last. (Cash and Card accepted) Bring your camera and get free pictures with the Easter bunny.

Wasco Elks Golf Tournament — The 2022 Wasco Elks Golf Tournament is on April 23. Registration starts at 7 a.m. and it is four-man teams. The tournament will be at the North Kern Golf Course, 17412 Quality Road, Bakersfield. Call Sergio at 661-747-9044 or email him at [email protected]

Wasco Branch Library is in partnership with NO Kid Hungry and the Kern County Superintendent of Schools is offering FREE meals and space to do homework.

Free covid-19 tests — All residential households are able to order four free at-home covid-19 tests. These tests will ship for free starting in late January. Visit http://www.covidtests.gov to order.

Monday

Richland School Board of Education — Meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 6 p.m. at the Golden Oak cafeteria at 195 S. Wall St.

Tuesday

Wasco City Council — The council meetings are held at Council Chambers at 746 8th St. on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m. For more questions, call the city at 661-758-7214.

Shafter City Council — Council meetings are held at Shafter Council on the first and third Tuesday of each month.

Wasco Woman’s Club — Club meetings are at the Clubhouse at 1601 7th St. on the second Tuesday of each month. There is a $15 fee for lunch meetings.

Senior lunch program — The senior sack program gives out lunches to seniors every first and third Tuesday of the month at 11 a.m., sponsored by the Golden Gleaners. Griffith Avenue Baptist Church, 408 Griffith St., Wasco.

Wednesday

Shafter Rotary — The Shafter Rotary meeting is every Wednesday at a.m. at the Shafter Veteran’s Hall.

Shafter Kiwanis — The Shafter Kiwanis meet every Wednesday at noon at the Shafter Veteran’s Hall.

Thursday

Wasco Recreation & Park Board — Meetings are on every 3rd Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Hall at Barker Park, Wasco.

Wasco High School Board Meeting — The board will be meeting at 1900 7th St. in room 202. The meetings are on the second Thursday of every month and are sometimes held in the library room 1101. The agenda is on the WHS website.

Friday

Food giveaway — The Impact Program is a weekly food giveaway provided to anyone in need, Fridays beginning at 7 a.m., first come, first serve. Griffith Avenue Baptist Church, 408 Griffith St., Wasco.

Saturday

Depot Museum — The Shafter Depot Museum will be open every Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The Depot is located at 150 Central Valley Highway.

Craft fair — The Wasco Women’s Club will be sponsoring a Craft Fair and Pop Up event to support local small business on Saturday, April 9, from 9 a.m. -2 p.m. at 1601 7th St, Wasco. Spring gifts, Easter décor, and sweet treats. Bring your friends and family, all ages welcome. The Women’s Club will also have breakfast and lunch items for sale.
