Richland girls basketball advances to tournament

The Richland School District celebrated a championship last week when the Richland Junior High Girls Basketball team finished their season undefeated, winning the championship.

This gives them a chance to advance to a tournament held for the other undefeated teams in the county.

In other Richland news, Golden Oak students and staff celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss by holding a Dress Up Day, with students going to school dressed as their favorite character or occupation. There were doctors, firemen, nurses, as well as a cowboy and a policeman.

At Redwood Elementary School, Steven Kemp, of Congressman David Valadao's office, visited the school to recognize two students for being positive role models and to celebrate their accomplishments in the classroom. Christopher Ayala and Estrella Pena received proclamations for their achievements.
