A 26-year-old Wasco man died after a crash north of the city on Tuesday, Dec. 14. His identity has not yet been confirmed.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a crash in the area of Palm Avenue and Taussig Avenue, north of the Wasco-Kern Airport.

Highway Patrol said a sedan was traveling north on Palm Avenue and a pickup truck driven by Cale Austin Rogers, 35, of Wasco, was traveling southbound.

The driver of the sedan veered onto the right shoulder and then over corrected to the left and rotated into the southbound lane directly in front of Rogers, California Highway Patrol said.

Unable to stop in time, Rogers crashed into the right side of the sedan. The driver of the sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. That driver has not been identified.
