Wasco FFA Charles Craig Classic from Sept. 10th through 12th at the Wasco FFA Farm. Friday begins in the afternoon. Sat. and Sun. events begin at 8 a.m. FFA Farm is located off Hwy 46 west make Left on Leonard.

Wasco Branch Library is in partnership with NO Kid Hungry and the Kern County Superintendent of Schools is offering FREE meals and space to do homework.

Tuesday

Senior lunch program — The senior sack program gives out lunches to seniors every first and third Tuesday of the month at 11 a.m., sponsored by the Golden Gleaners. Griffith Avenue Baptist Church, 408 Griffith St., Wasco.

Thursday

Wasco Recreation & Park Board — Meetings are on every 3rd Thursday of the month at 6 p.m. at the Hall at Barker Park, Wasco.

Truth ministries — Truth Ministries: A Faith Based 12-Step Program providing fellowship recovery will be held on Thursday nights from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Shafter Mennonite Brethren Church, 400 Kern St. The program begins on Feb. 25. Call 661-746-4969 for more information.

Diabetes Undone Program will be hosting 8 sessions on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The cost of the workshop is $99 and includes the participant kit. Food giveaway — The Impact Program is a weekly food giveaway provided to anyone in need, Fridays beginning at 7 a.m., first come, first serve. Griffith Avenue Baptist Church, 408 Griffith St., Wasco.

Saturday

Wasco Rose Festival and Parade — The Wasco Rose Festival and Parade will be Saturday, Oct. 9. Parade begins at 10 a.m. and starts on D Street and Poplar. Festival begins at 11 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m. at Barker Park.

The Lavender Garden is having Lavender Your Health FREE Seminar about the health benefits of Lavender! It will be on Oct. 2 at 11 a.m. 14014 US-46, Lost Hills.
