Richard "Ricky" Antonio Trujillo Acosta

Ricardo "Ricky" Antonio Trujillo Acosta, 19, passed away on April 20, 2021, in Shafter. He was born on Jan. 5, 2002, in Bakersfield, to Elida and Alvaro Trujillo.

Ricky grew up in Wasco. He graduated from Independence High School in 2020. During high school he started his own business, Compitas Auto Detailing. When he wasn't working at Wasco Family Auto, he was detailing cars, where he continued to expand his business and made many friends.

Ricky enjoyed spending time with family and friends. You would often find Ricky at his grandparents' house washing and detailing cars. Ricky was a funny, caring, sweet, hardworking young man. He captured everyone's heart.

Ricky is survived by his parents, Elida and Alvaro Trujillo, of Sinaloa, Mexico. His sister Michelle Trujillo and brother Alvarito "baby"Trujillo from Wasco. His grandparents, Francisco and Maria Trujillo, Alvaro and Carmela Trujillo, and Gabriel and Elizabeth Lopez. His aunts and uncles, Maricela Trujillo, Maribel and Armando Ayon, Marisol Trujillo, Jackie and Eddy Garza, Johanna and Nicolas Briones, and David and Christina Lopez.

A rosary will be held at Basham & Lara Funeral Home, 343 State Ave., Shafter, on Thursday, May 6, 2021, from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

A funeral service will be held at St. John's Catholic Church, 1300 9th Place in Wasco on Friday, May 7, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Shafter Cemetery, 18662 Santa Fe Way.

Thank you to everyone who helped our family during this difficult time and a special thank you to Ricky's best friends, Rafael Jose Ledesma, Esteban Osornio, Alan Tapia, Kevin Cabello and Edgard Nava.
