Wasco suffered a tough loss last week against Division 1 opponent Tulare Union, 53-7.
The touchdown was scored on run by Jacob Ruiz in the 2nd quarter.
Wasco’s team consists of young talent that will be in the program for years. Among those impact players were Mike Dominguez, who got his first start as a freshman on the varsity team as the free safety and another freshman Ramiro “Ram” Lopez that had 6 carries and 47 yards.
Of the 11 varsity starters, Wasco fields three seniors and on the defensive side, fields four seniors.
The Tigers are getting experience for the young players, which will pay dividends in the next few years. Despite the loss, the Tigers are enjoying being back on the field and getting back to a sense of normalcy.
Wasco will face Tulare Western High next. This will be the final game of the shortened season for the Tigers.
