A 23-year-old Wasco resident was killed after being shot on Poplar Avenue the day after Christmas.

The Kern County Sheriff’s Office reported that on Dec. 26, Vicente Hinojosa Regalado was shot in the 1500 block of Poplar Avenue. He died on the sidewalk at the scene.

Regalado’s killing was ruled a homicide after cause of death was declared multiple gunshot wounds.
