Community Bible Study to begin 36th year

Shafter's Community Bible Study class will begin Sept. 1. This will be the study's 36th year.

Community Bible Study is an in-depth study open to all. CBS is a nondenominational study; members represent many local churches. Valley Bible Church has hosted the study most of the time.

At CBS, the Bible is studied in small, core groups that are facilitated by caring leaders. Onsite core groups are offered Tuesday mornings for ladies, long with remote coed core groups. Our Tuesday morning, class time has a children's program for all ages and a nursery program for children under 2.

Our Tuesday morning starts at 10 a.m. with everyone gathering for a short time of song and devotion. Groups then go over the lesson, which members completed at home. Everyone then gathers together for a teaching time.

With the uncertainty of the times, it appears that this year, the program will shift to online Zoom group meetings, but plans are to have on-site groups as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

A registration coffee will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, from 9 to 11 a.m., in the courtyard at Valley Bible Church, 350 Pine St., Shafter. Reigstration also is available online at Fischer.communityBiblestudy.org.
