Pastor's Corner: Have faith in God

Most everyone will agree that these are turbulent and uncertain times that we live in. 2nd Timothy 3:1 calls it perilous times, or hard, difficult, grievous, and fierce times. Many people are fearful and uncertain at this time. We wonder who we should listen to for guidance in this time of adversity. Jesus Christ gave us the answer when he said have faith in God.

Hold on to God! Psalm 56:3 says what time I am afraid, I will trust in Thee. Biblical faith is when we place our trust in the Lord. In these uncertain times hold on to God. God or his word never changes. Deut. 7:9 calls him "the faithful God."

Hold on to God. He will be a refuge for you in these turbulent times. The Psalmist said, in Thee do I trust. My wife and I found out a long time ago after the death of our first born child that there is a great value in trusting the Lord. He will never leave you or forsake you and he will lead you through the times of uncertainty. Hold on to God!

Have faith in God, even when the odds are against you. Heaven is filled with people who held on and trusted the Lord. In Daniel 3:17-18 the three Hebrew boys said our God is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace and out of your hand, but if not, we will not bow down to you. That’s faith in God.

Trust God in these crazy times. He is our only hope. Do not be unsettled by what you see or hear. You will find your life experiencing more peace, joy, contentment, and more victory when you have faith in God.
