Fellowship, family and worship at Westside

Sunday at Westside Family Fellowship is always filled with fellowship, family, amazing worship and the Word of God. This Sunday we had a special guest speaker, Bishop Jan Lake. Lake is the bishop over the Southern California Pentecostal Church of God district, and we were honored to have him speak on the importance of love within the family unit.

Sunday evening also was filled with fellowship as we met for our “Experience” Night of Worship. This is a time where we are all able to come together and worship our Heavenly Father. The Westside worship team always does an amazing job ushering in the Holy Spirit and creating an intimate atmosphere for worship.

Sunday services and worship nights aren’t the only events going on at Westside. We recently wrapped up our annual Vacation Bible School, where we were able to share the word of God with over 100 children, grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Westside has several small-group ministries that go on throughout the week as well, including “Celebrate Recovery,” which meets every Tuesday night at 7 p.m., “Game On,” which meets the first and second Sunday night at 6, “Relationship vs. Religion,” which meets every first and second Sunday at 6,” Abundant Life,” “Healing Hearts” meets the third Friday of every month, “Love Languages” which meets the first two Sundays of the month at 6 p.m., “Walking Worshipers” meeting Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings through the summer session, “Heart of Worship” meeting Tuesdays night at 7 p. m. and “Westside Dirt Riders” meets the second Tuesday of each month. If you or someone you know is interested in any of our small groups, we encourage you to head over to our guest kiosk after Sunday service or visit our website westsidefamilyfellowship.com.

On top of the several small-group ministry opportunities Westside provides, we also have a heart for serving our community. This year our annual “Shoe Frenzy” will be held on Aug. 9 from 6 to 8 p.m. During this event, students are able to receive a pair of new shoes to start the new school year, get their hair cut and learn about Jesus Christ. Food and activities are also provided.

This is a great opportunity to give back to the community that we love. If you are a hairdresser or barber and would like to donate your services for our Shoe Frenzy, we always need more professionals to give haircuts. If you would like to donate your services, please contact our secretary, Dovie, at the church office, 661-758-9013. We greatly appreciate your help.

We at Westside Family Fellowship would like to invite you to become part of our family. We meet every Sunday at 10 a.m. for morning service and 6 p.m. for our evening small groups. We also meet Wednesdays at 7 p.m. for an evening service in the main building and for Youth Group in our Fusion Center. Our Young Adults group also meets Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Fusion Center.

We hope that you find a home at Westside, and we look forward to seeing you there.
