Outdoor Easter at Westside Church

While their Easter message was the same as in years' past, Westside Family Fellowship completely changed their annual Easter service this year.

Instead of having the congregation go inside the church for the 10 a.m. service, they took advantage of the warm weather and set up the chairs outside on the lawn where the Easter service was held.

Westside is a large congregation, and every chair was filled to leave standing-room-only.

Children were dressed up in their Easter best and excited for the Easter egg hunt to be held after the morning service.

This year, the church hid all the eggs inside the church. The room was divided into different sections for the differing age groups.

Of course, the youngest children, ages 2-4, were the first group to hunt for their eggs. Parents stood behind the upstairs railing and took pictures of their children.

Usher Butch Hasty is a 20-year member of the congregation. "I love the fellowship," Hasty said. "Everyone feels wanted as soon as you walk in the door."

Lisa Mizell was enjoying a brief rest after the egg hunt. "I've been going here since before my children were born," Mizell said. "The church is so family-oriented,"
