Lifehouse Church celebrates first Easter

Lifehouse Church in Wasco experienced joy as it held its first Easter celebration as a new church in town Saturday in Barker Park.

The church, at 1441 7th St., held its first-ever Easter celebration and egg hunt for local families. The community was invited to celebrate Easter with the church.

Kids were entertained by face painting could participate in a bicycle raffle -- and had plenty of hot dogs to eat.

Among those enjoying lunch together in the warm weather were Eric Acosta, Angelica Flores and Ashley Acosta. "It was great to have something to do as a family," Erik Acosta said.

Keeping the music going were Luis A. Espinosa, Ray Bravo and Steve Herrera. The three were keeping a close eye on the bikes to be raffled off that afternoon

Several booths sold games for kids and other articles for the young.

Children ages 2 to 4 years were first to hunt for eggs in the grassy playground.

Pastor Noe Tesillo said that though their services are currently in Spanish, he is hoping to introduce an English service on a regular basis.

Lifehouse Church has a Spanish service Sundays at 9 a. m.
