NEW: College counseling — Bakersfield College DSPS/academic counselor Elvira Martinez will be available at Wasco Independence High School, 1445 Poso Drive, Thursday, May 16.

NEW: Racing -- Buttonwillow Raceway Park plays host this weekend, April 26-28, to an annual visit from the Hoosier Racing Tire SCCA Super Tour, the country’s premier amateur road racing series. Entry is FREE for spectators. On-track activities begin 8 a.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Races run Saturday from noon to 5 p.m., and Sunday 8:40 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.

Resource fair -- 4th Annual Community Career and Resource Fair. Open to the public. FREE. Tuesday, April 30, 6-7 p.m. at the Wasco Union High School-Cafeteria, 1900 7th St.. Food, raffle prizes, family resources, college and career resources and more.

Barbecue and carnival -- North Kern Christian School holds its 36h annual BBQ/carnival/auction Saturday, May 4, at the school, on the corner of 7th and Peters streets. Serving begins at 4:30 p.m. and continues through X p.m. There will be a drive-thru, too. Silent auction/live auction.

Law Day -- At the Beale Library Auditorium, Wednesday, May 1,

12-6 p.m. at 701 Truxtun Ave, Bakersfield. Free 15-minute

consultation with attorneys on criminal, probate, family law, disability,

immigration, landlord/tenant, guardianship and more. Consultations

scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pregnancy health -- Bakersfield Pregnancy Center’s Image Clear Ultrasound mobile unit will be in Shafter on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month, 2-5 p.m. Located at 341 Central Ave., Shafter (parking lot across from La Fonda). No appointments necessary.

FREE pregnancy test, first-trimester ultrasound, information and resources available.

Rotary Club -- Wasco Rotary Club meets every Monday at the Wasco Recreation Center at noon.

Fishes & Loaves -- Free dinner every first Monday 5-7 p.m. at 408 Griffith Ave.
