School facilities getting a new home

Tuesday, ground was broken for the new Wasco Unified Elementary School District $1.5 million maintenance, operations and transportation facility near Teresa Burke Elementary School. Participating in the ceremony were, from left, Director of Maintenance and Operations and Transportation Rob Sanchez, board members Richard Reding, Danny Rueda, Luis Fernandez, Anna Poggi, Cherylee Wegman, and, at top, is Superintendent Kelly Richers. The building is expected to be completed by the end of November as part of the school district's master lan, according to Facility and Planning Director Daniel Vargas.
